A motorist named Khairul Anwar decided he would not stand by and watch such drivers put others at risk.

In a clip he shared on Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road, he was travelling towards the city along AYE at 5.30pm on Friday (Apr 14).

After the Yuan Ching Exit, a lorry heading towards the Clementi started abruptly cutting lanes before skidding and crashing near Clementi Avenue 6.

Khairul stopped his car by the side of the road to check on the lorry driver.

But the lorry driver decided to drive away from the accident scene instead, prompting Khairul to give chase.

He managed to catch up with the lorry driver at Clementi Avenue 2, where he prevented him from leaving until the police arrived.

"Handed over the case to the Traffic Police immediately," said Khairul.

Stomp has contacted the Police for more information about this incident.
