5 sent to hospital after accident involving taxi and lorry at Clementi Ave 2

A taxi was involved in an accident with a lorry at the junction of Clementi Avenue 2 and 5 yesterday (Apr 28) at around 10.45pm.

Stomper Elijah was driving pass the area when he saw the scene of the accident.

The front bumper of the taxi was damaged badly with parts of it missing and hanging off the vehicle.

"I'm not sure what happened but I saw police on the scene.

Elijah also noticed that the road had been resurfaced after passing by the same area today (Apr 29) at 8am.

In response to Stomp queries, a police spokesperson said:

"On 28 April 2017 at 9.37pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a taxi and a lorry at the junction of Clementi Avenue 2 and Clementi Avenue 5.

"One lorry driver and four taxi passengers were conscious when conveyed to National University Hospital (NUH).

"Police investigations are ongoing."
