Elderly sent to CGH after fire at Bedok South Road

Stomper Jonas spotted huge spirals of smoke coming out of a building at Bedok South at around 2pm today (Oct 11).

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has confirmed that they were alerted to a fire at the 12th floor unit at Block 38 Bedok South Road at about 2.40pm today.

They dispatched two fire bikes, one fire engine, two red rhinos, one support vehicle and an ambulance to the incident.

The fire engulfed the unit and was extinguished using one water jet.

Residents on the 11th and 12th floor were evacuated by SCDF and the police. 

An elderly who was a resident on the 12th floor complained of short of breath and was brought to Changi General Hospital (CGH).

SCDF is still investigating the cause of fire.
