Body of Chinese male pulled out of Sungei Bedok canal

The body of a Chinese man was pulled out of Sungei Bedok Canal at 12.10pm today (May 8).

Stomper Fauzi alerted Stomp to the incident after seeing a group of uniformed men carrying the body out of the water in the canal.

The body was subsequently covered by a police death tent.

In response to Stomp's queries, SCDF said that it was alerted to an incident at Upper Changi Road at 11am.

It dispatched one ambulance and one fire engine to the location.

A male Chinese was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson Stomp spoke to said:

"On 8th May 2017, at 10.53am, the police were alerted to a case of unnatural death along Upper Changi Road East.

"A man was found motionless and was pronounced dead by paramedics at scene.

"Police investigation is ongoing."
