2 sent to hospital and car engulfed by flames after accident with lorry on SLE

A car caught fire on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) at about 12.30pm today (Dec 13), after an accident with a lorry.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), two men in their early 20s were taken to Khoo Teck Puat hospital in stable condition.

SCDF dispatched two fire engines, one fire bike as well as one ambulance and extinguished the fire with a compressed air foam jet.

Two lanes were also closed as a result of the accident.

Gowri said:

"This is a short video I captured along SLE towards BKE, before Yishun exit.

"I was in my the taxi and happened to drive past right beside the accident scene."
