Sengkang resident calls neighbour 'pervert' in notice, says she dripped bleach on laundry

A Sengkang resident placed up a notice, calling her neighbour from a floor above, a ‘pervert’  after she allegedly dripped bleach water on the former’s laundry repeatedly.

The incident happened on Saturday (Aug 26) at a block in Rivervale Drive, and the police were alerted.

The 54-year-old resident who placed up the notice told Lianhe Wanbao that her family had been harassed by said neighbour for the past five years.

She revealed that just two days ago (Aug 24), the neighbour had poured bleach on her laundry which she had hanged outside her kitchen to dry.

Only when she felt that it had become intolerable had she placed up the notice, she said.

Her husband, 58, also pointed out that their neighbour would drip bleach on their laundry every month.

Said the frustrated man: "We don’t know why she’s doing this.

"The bleach can’t be washed off after it drips onto our clothes. We had to throw away many clothes which were affected."

With regard to their claims, the neighbour denied the accusations and said that her laundry was affected too, by bleach dripping from a unit above.

She added that her accuser had a long-standing feud against her but she did not expect her to place up a defamatory notice.

Upset at the besmirching of her reputation, she had called the police.

In response to media queries, a police spokesman said that they received a call and officers were dispatched to mediate the situation.
