A fire broke out at Block 758 Pasir Ris Street 71 earlier this morning (Aug 8).

In response to media queries by Stomp, a spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a case of unattended cooking at 11.41am.

Two fire engines, one Red Rhino, one fire bike and one support vehicle were dispatched to the scene.

The SCDF conducted forcible entry into the unit and extinguished the fire by switching off the gas stove valve, added the spokesman.

No injuries were reported.
