At a time where a great deal of emphasis is placed on security, we would like to remind travellers not to leave their belongings unattended at Changi Airport.

Stomper Lau Lup was at Terminal 2 on Oct 18 at around 11am when he saw two police officers standing beside a purple bag that was left outside a 'Bakery Cuisine' outlet.

A video he sent shows the officers watching over the bag while a woman believed to be an airport staffer was cleaning the exterior of the item.

Said a police spokesman in response to a Stomp query over the incident:

"On Oct 18, 2017, at 10.52am, the police were alerted to a case of unattended bag at Changi Airport Terminal 2.

"The police conducted checks and nothing incriminating was found.

"No further police assistance was required."

Stomp understands that the item was then handed over to airport staff.

Two days before the incident, a man was arrested for leaving his bag unattended at Farrer Park and Outram MRT stations on the same day.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the man had intentionally left his bag inside the two MRT stations while he went to run errands.
