Prime taxi driver taken to hospital after crashing into barriers at Orchard Road

A 65-year-old Prime taxi driver was taken to hospital after crashing into some barriers in an accident involving another car at the junction of Orchard Road and Bideford Road on Tuesday (April 24), at 8.37pm. 

Stomper Ah Boy came across a photo of the damaged taxi, taken after the accident, and sent it to Stomp.

In the photo, the front of the taxi, SHD2696M appears to be smashed. 

A police patrol motorcycle could also be seen in the background. 

Said Ah boy:

“This time it’s at Orchard.

“I feel this is important. To all car riders, this could happen if seat belts are not worn.”

In response to a Stomp query, a police spokesman said:

“On April 24, at 8.37pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a car and a taxi at the junction of Orchard Road and Bideford Road.

“The taxi driver, a 65-year-old man was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

“Police investigations are ongoing.”
