People queue overnight for opening of new Gong Cha outlet at SingPost Centre

People are excited by popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain Gong Cha's return to Singapore.

Queues started forming yesterday night ahead of the opening of its new outlet at SingPost Centre in Paya Lebar at noon today (Dec 1).

The brand has been brought back by a new franchisee, Gong Cha Singapore, helmed by Mr Kang Puay Seng, 57, former managing director and co-founder of soy milk food and beverage chain Mr Bean.

According to The Straits Times, the new 850 sq ft Gong Cha outlet has 33 seats.

Apart from its signature alisan and oolong tea range and toppings such as ai yu jelly, red beans milk foam and pearls, there are new items on the menu including five smoothie options and three new types of tea latte.

The outlet also serves food items like chicken pie, muffins in multiple flavours, mini chocolate lava cakes and croissants.
