One killed, 3 injured after brawl erupts between Thai neighbours over smell of instant noodles

A dispute over the smell of instant noodles between neighbours in Bangkok, Thailand,  saw one dead and three injured after a fight broke out.

The incident happened in Bangkok’s Khan Nayao district on Sept 8, at 11.45am, reports The Star

The Thai Police confirmed that Somchai Klinhom, 47, was stabbed to death at his townhouse in the Maneemart housing estate on Soi Khubon 28 on Khubon Road.

Somchai’s neighbours - two men and a woman - reportedly sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

A blood-soaked knife, baseball bat, and a wooden stick were recovered at the scene.

The Police said that Somchai and his neighbours were not on friendly terms and often quarrelled.

The most recent dispute, which claimed Somchai’s life arose after his brother boiled instant noodles, which provoked the neighbours who found the smell ‘offensive’.

The two sides then headed to the Khan Nayao Police Station for police mediation.

On Friday, the neighbours got into an argument again, with Somchai allegedly shouting at the trio’s mother.

They then charged into his house and assaulted him, killing him.
