A flashy, green Lamborghini is more than enough to catch the attention of most passersby.

Despite the presence of one at Yishun Street 11, however, the eyes of some a group of people were fixated on something else.

In a telephone interview, Stomper Tan told Stomp that around 15 people had gathered at the area for a bird-watching session.

She heard from some of them that there were Wagtails Songbirds roosting around some Housing Development Board (HDB) blocks.

A photo she sent shows the enthusiasts looking upwards, trying to get a glimpse of the elusive creatures.

Some of them were armed with cameras that were mounted on tripods, while others were peering through binoculars.

According to The Straits Times, October is typically the peak of the migratory season for songbirds such as wagtails in Singapore, when birds from as far as Siberia in Russia fly south to escape the harsh winter up north.

Tan, unfortunately, did not manage to see any when she was at the area.

If you find yourself around Yishun Street 11, do keep an eye out for the birds whilst they are here.
