Commuters on the Circle Line were delayed by a train fault today (Sep 11) at around 9.25am.

In a tweet posted by SMRT at 9.25am, the rail operator told passengers to add 15 minutes of travelling time from Paya Lebar to Buona Vista MRT stations due to the fault.

Free regular bus services were made available to ease the delay.

At around 9.40am, commuters going to Buona Vista from Paya Lebar were then advised in another tweet by SMRT to add 30 minutes additional travelling time.

Train services started to run normally at around 10.27am.

The Straits Times compiled a series of comments as well as photos related to the train delay that was posted by netizens on Twitter.

One image showed a sea of people waiting to board a train at Bishan MRT Station.
