Man's ex-GF stabs him in AMK lift -- after they broke up just a few days earlier

A woman reportedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend in a lift in Ang Mo Kio on Saturday (Jun 10).

Police told Stomp that it was alerted to a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means at 3.38pm on Saturday at Block 203, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the victim was on his way to a unit on the third floor when he saw his former girlfriend there.

Residents Shin Min spoke to said that they heard the couple having a heated argument.

The man told Shin Min that he and his ex-girlfriend broke up a few days before the incident.

He was going to a friend's house to return a mobile phone and did not expect her be at Ang Mo Kio.

When they both got into the lift, she requested to remain friends but he refused.

He said that she then stabbed him with a fruit knife that was about 4cm to 5cm long.

He tried to avoid her attack but was hurt on his left arm and back.

She fled when the lift door opened and a friend came to help him.

The victim drove himself to the hospital, accompanied by his friend.

Shin Min reported that his ex-girlfriend was three months pregnant but the man said he was unaware of this.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
