A 31-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in loansharking activities.

The police received reports on Feb 3 and 5 that three residential units at Beo Crescent, Whampoa Drive and Owen Road had their gates splashed with paint.

Officers established the identity of the man through extensive ground enquiries and arrested him along Boon Lay Avenue on Feb 6.

He will be charged in court on Feb 8 under the Moneylenders Act.

If convicted for loanshark harassment, he could be jailed for up to 5 years and fined between $5,000 and $50,000.
