A chain collision involving two cars, two lorries, a pickup, a van, a bus and a motorcycle occurred along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards the Central Expressway (CTE) at 6.39pm on Tuesday (July 10).

A 32-year-old male passenger on the pickup was subsequently sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.

Stomper Sim received photos of the accident from a friend and forwarded them to Stomp.

Speaking to Stomp during a phone interview, Sim explained that his friend was driving by the area at around 6.30am and had forwarded a photo to him, advising him to avoid using the SLE if possible.

Sim said:

“My friend said that there was a jam forming due to the accident but he was not sure what happened.

“Unfortunately, I still have to go past the area later at about 8.40am. So I took some photos of the site to share with Stomp.

"There was still a jam."

In response to a Stomp query, a police spokesman said:

"On July 10, 2018, at 6.39am, the Police were alerted to an accident involving two cars, two lorries, a pickup, a van, a bus and a motorcycle along SLE towards CTE before Mandai exit.

“The passenger of the pickup, a 32-year-old man was conscious when conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Police investigations are ongoing.”

Stomp understands that the motorcyclist lost control of his bike which self- skidded, causing the chain collision.
