Malaysian mother who prostituted daughters, 10 and 13, jailed 150 years

A Malaysian ‘monster mother’ who forced her underaged daughters to have sex with Bangladeshi men, was sentenced on Monday (Nov 13)  to 150 years’ jail in Court.

The unemployed accused, 39,  would receive RM50 ($16) for each session which involved both victims, aged 10 and 13, reports The Straits Times

She would also watch as the men had their way with the young girls.

The accused was arrested by the police on Oct 25, after her 13-year-old daughter, who had been absent from school for 18 days, pleaded for help from a teacher via WhatsApp using her mother’s phone.

She said that her mother had sold her off to foreign men.

This alarmed her teacher who quickly approached the school authorities.

The matter was escalated to the state education and welfare departments, as well as the police.

The accused who cannot be named to protect the identities of the victims did not have a legal representative while the sentences were read out.

She was charged under Section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act 2001, read together with Section 16(1) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a fine of not more than RM20,000 or a jail term of up to 20 years, or both, on conviction.

She pleaded for a fine during mitigation, citing that she had two more children aged four and five, whom she had to care for.

Judge Kamarudin Kamsun sentenced the accused to 15 years’ jail on each charge.

The sentences for the charges on the same date are set to run concurrently.

This amounts to 75 years’ jail in total.

During the period of abuse, the accused was staying with the two victims in one of six rooms at a two-storey commercial building in Senai.

Both victims were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for check-ups.

Medical reports confirmed that there were old tears around their private parts.

They are currently under the custody of the state Welfare Department, which is caring for them.
