Malaysian man, 50, pleads not guilty to incest with daughter, 15, and impregnating her

A 50-year-old man has pleaded not guilty at the Session Court on Wednesday (Dec 27) to a charge of committing incest with his underage daughter and impregnating her.

Dressed in a T-shirt and a pair of jeans, he was brought before the judge and appeared calm as the charges were read out.

He is accused of committing incest with his 15-year-old daughter between 11.45pm on Dec 20 and 12.30am on Dec 21, at an apartment in Air Itam, reports the New Straits Times

The charge carries a jail term of 30 years and 10 strokes of the cane if he is found guilty.

He nodded as the charges were read, indicating that he understood.

However, he has pleaded not guilty.

Deputy public prosecutor Farah Aimy Zainul Anwar told the court that the accused should not be allowed bail due to the nature of the offence.

Her sentiments were shared by the judge and the man was told to appoint a lawyer.

The judge has fixed Jan 29, 2018, for mention pending the completion of a chemical report.

The accused was arrested on Saturday (Dec 23) after the girl was discovered to be six months pregnant.

She later admitted to her mother that she had sex with her father.
