Malaysian girl who was bullied for having moles all over body auditions for Miss Universe Malaysia

A 20-year-old girl, Evita Patcey Edgar Delmundo from Sabah is challeging the common conception of beauty by auditioning in Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 beauty pageant-- despite being covered in countless moles.

Born with this many moles, Evita had a rough childhood due to her unique appearance reports World of Buzz

She said:

“It definitely wasn’t easy for me.

“I got bullied in primary school and the other kids would call me names like ‘Monster’ or ‘Chipsmore’, which was really tough to swallow as a young girl.

“I was really timid and I shied away as I didn’t know how to deal with it all.

“In fact, I’ve even asked my dad to come to the school to scold the mean kids!”

Fortunately for her, the bullying lessened as she grew older.

She came to love and accept herself for who she was and how she looked.

Although she had contemplated removing all the moles, she ultimately decided against it as it could pose a threat to her health.

Evita added:

“After seeking advice from doctors, I learned that it could be a risk to my health.

"So I just had to accept that this is the body I’ve been given.

"But now I’m grateful I didn’t change anything.”

The beauty queen aspirant said that she would not let anything get in her way, and even if she does not win the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant, will continue to take part in future competitions.

She hopes that by doing so, she can inspire others to have confidence in themselves.
