LTA security auditor used Facebook to lure young boys, performed sex acts on them

A 38-year-old Land Transport Authority (LTA) security auditor preyed on young boys.made use of Facebook to prey on young boys, whom he got sexually involved with.

Soffiyan Hamzah, who went by the Facebook moniker "ItsmeDeedeeYourfrenlyfren", performed oral sex on 10 boys, who were all minors below 18 years old.

He committed the acts in public toilets and gave his victims up to $100 each for every encounter.

Soffiyan also had non-commercial sexual encounters with five other underage boys.

According to The Straits Times. he pleaded guilty on Dec 20 to eight counts of sexual penetration involving minors below 16.

Seven other charges for similar offences and 68 counts of commercial sex with boys below 18 will be taken into consideration during sentencing.

Soffiyan, who was found in possession of 453 obscene films, will also be considered for four counts of sexual grooming and three charges under the Films Act.

The offences were committed from mid-2015 to March this year.

Known as "Dee" or "Dee Dee" to his victims, Soffiyan mentioned in his Facebook profile that he was gay and would perform oral sex on anyone. He also stated that he would pay.

After the boys agreed to meet him for oral sex, which Soffiyan referred to as "work", he would usually arrange to meet them near MRT stations out of convenience.

Most of the sexual encounters took place in a toilet at JCube shopping centre in Jurong. The accused would meet his victims after cleaning hours or late at night when the mall was about to close or had already closed.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Gail Wong said: "On some occasions, the accused would meet more than one boy in the same session, who would wait in different cubicles for him... On one occasion, (he) fellated two boys in the same cubicle."
