Lorry driver arrested for drink-driving after crashing into bus in Tuas

A 47-year-old lorry driver was arrested for suspected drink-driving after crashing into a bus along Tuas Basin Link on Wednesday morning (May 16).

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to the accident, which occurred towards Tuas Road, at 8.15am.

According to The Straits Times, the lorry driver had been trying to avoid an object on the road when he collided into the bus, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

A photo published by Shin Min Daily News shows that the bus involved was from service 254. There were about 10 passengers on board.

No injuries were reported.

Police investigations are ongoing.
