Local actress Jayley Woo leaves Mediacorp as full-time artist

Singapore actress Jayley Woo will no longer be signed to Mediacorp full-time, taking on any future roles with the broadcaster on a project basis instead.

In a press release on July 3, the 26-year-old said that taking a project approach would allow her "more flexibility to do different things".

Woo, who said she is taking acting classes and "will focus on improving my craft", added: "There are some opportunities to collaborate with China but it is still not final at the moment.

"Many things are still in talks and I'm really looking forward to them happening.

"I'll continue striving hard to improve and still find opportunities to work with Mediacorp. If it wasn't for Mediacorp, I wouldn't be where and who I am today. It has been a great learning opportunity and my time here will be greatly missed."

Woo also shared the news on her social media pages and wrote: "Cheers to new beginnings."

Georgina Chang, head of the Celebrity Agency said, “We support Jayley’s future plans for her career.

"Mediacorp will continue to work with her when there are suitable roles or client enquiries.

"We wish her the very best and I’m sure she’ll continue to grow in skills and popularity.”

Woo will be seen in Channel 8 drama Jalan Jalan, which starts filming this month, as well as on Toggle series Glitch in November.
