A worker injured himself after allegedly falling off Block 217 Marsiling Crescent on Saturday (May 5) at about 8.25am.

Stomper Rinz’s father was on his way to a bus stop near the block when he saw the man on the ground and quickly called for an ambulance.

He informed Rinz about the incident and told her that the worker had fallen down.

In a video which he shared with Rinz, officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) are seen attending to the worker and later loading him onto a stretcher.

Rinz’s father only went off after ensuring that the victim was safely transported onto an ambulance.

According to Rinz, who stays at Block 216, the worker was a regular face in the area, and her neighbour had spoken to him on a few occasions.

Said Rinz:

“I’m not sure from how high he fell, but my dad told me that he could open his eyes and move a little after the fall.

“He also said that there was a handful of workers, about five of them at the foot of the block, but no one dared to move the victim.

“None of the workers actually came to help.

“Even the supervisor was just watching.

“Perhaps they were scared that they would be implicated if something bad happened to the worker.“

In response to a Stomp query, an SCDF spokesman said that the SCDF received a call for assistance at Block 217 Marsiling Crescent at about 8.25am.

One ambulance was dispatched, and the injured victim was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.
