Incident at Clementi MRT Station: Police say it was "false alarm"

SMRT staff, police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel were seen at Clementi MRT station when an alarm was triggered at around 2.40pm today (Nov 20).

In response to Stomp media queries, a police spokesman issued the following lines:

"On Nov 20 at 2.47pm, the police received a call for assistance for a case of fire alarm activation at Clementi MRT Station.

"After conducting checks, it was established to be a false alarm.

"Police investigations are ongoing."

An SCDF spokesman said:

"There was no sign of case. SCDF assistance was not required."

It is unclear why the alarm was triggered.

Investigations are ongoing.
