Stompers Timoteus and Chia were annoyed with smokers who were puffing away at non-smoking areas.

Timoteus saw a man smoking a cigarette along a common corridor at Block 2 Ghim Moh Road yesterday.

On Saturday, Chia saw a group of smokers lighting up at a non-designated smoking area in a coffeshop at Block 36 Chai Chee Avenue.

Both incidents were caught on video.

"It's so inconsiderate of them all."

Under the Smoking (Prohibition in Certain Places) Act by the National Environment Agency (NEA), smoking is prohibited in common areas in residential buildings like common corridors, stairwells, staircase landings and void decks.

It is only allowed at approved smoking corners at outdoor refreshment areas of food establishments, usually marked by a yellow box.
