During the World Street Food Congress held in Manila, Philippines which started last Wednesday (May 31), renowned chef Anthony Bourdain, along with Makansutra founder, K.F. Seetoh, visited the Makansutra Hawkers in SM Megamall.

The food stations served many of Singaporean’s well-loved dishes, including laksa, chicken claypot rice, oyster omelette, savory carrot cake, and duck rice.

Stomper Melvin who ran the Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck stall was touched when Chef Bourdain told Seetoh that he was impressed by the taste of the duck.

Said Melvin:

“I felt really humbled and happy that Chef Bourdain would praise my dish.

“He’s such a famous chef and his words actually means something.

“I will continue to work to perfect my craft.”
