A Stomper was frustrated when he booked a Grab ride in Langkawi, Malaysia only for the driver to tell him to cancel it after accepting.

The Stomper had booked a ride from The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa on Sunday (April 29) to get to Eagle Square.

After his request had been accepted, he received a text from the driver telling him to cancel because he was "far" from his location.

The Stomper told the driver he was fine with waiting.

However, the driver continued to insist that the Stomper cancel the ride and book a new one.

When the Stomper questioned why the driver accepted the ride in the first place since he was not willing to drive to the hotel, he responded, "auto accept".

The Stomper then told the driver that he should cancel since he did not want to pick him up.

He also sent him a link to a policy update on Grab's website regarding passenger cancellation dated May 29, 2017.

Grab wrote:

"With these new changes, please do not ask passengers to cancel rides to maintain a pleasant experience for everyone."

The driver continued to refuse to do so.

The Stomper informed Stomp that in the end, the driver finally cancelled the ride -- but only 50 minutes later.

The Stomper wanted to share his experience to caution others of such drivers.
