Local heartthrob Aloysius Pang charged for drink driving, intends to plead guilty

Local celebrity, 27-year-old Aloysius Pang was charged yesterday (Mar 18) morning for drink driving, and said that he intents to plead guilty. 

The star told Shin Min Daily News:

“I know I have done wrong.

“As a role model to others, I should not have acted the way I did. 

“I must face the consequences now.

“I will not be engaging a legal counsel.”

Pang is  is accused of committing the offence in Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim towards Jurong Port Road at around 4.40am last Monday (May 8) and has violated traffic law 671b.

He reveals that he intended to plead guilty and will not be engaging a lawyer. 

Pang received his licence in Jun 2012, at age 22,  reports Shin Min Daily News via Lianhe Zaobao

Although reporters managed to contact Pang, he was unwilling to divulge the details of the incident. 

Pang, as a first time offender, faces a fine between $1,000, amounting to not more than $5,000 or a jail term not exceeding six months should he be found guilty. 

Prosecutors revealed that they may charge Pang with another case of inconsiderate driving, but the case would be delayed until Jun 22, 2017. 

Having entered the entertainment industry at the tender age of 9, Pang returned to television works upon graduating from university.

However, he announced that he would not be renewing his contract with Mediacorp last month.
