Stomper Rashid saw flowers at the accident site where Traffic Police Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Nadzrie Bin Matin died on Jun 1 while he was performing traffic patrol duties in Little India, in front of Zaman Centre and Anguillia Mosque.
Passers-by had placed the flowers at the site in tribute of SSgt Nadzrie.
"The flowers had been arranged into the shape of a heart and a circle just 10 to 20 metres apart," said Rashid.
"I'm not sure when they were placed there but the flowers looked fresh."
Rashid passed by the tribute sites while exiting the nearby mosque after Friday prayers.
"I don't know if it was coincidence or not because people were streaming out of the mosque after prayers, but a crowd had gathered around the tribute sites to look and take photos," he said.
He added that there was a card with a written tribute to the fallen officer in the middle of the flower petals arranged in the shape of a heart.
SSgt Nadzrie has been laid to rest at the Choa Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery where his family and friends gathered to pay their last respects.
