E-scooter teen who knocked down elderly woman at AMK assisting with police investigations

A 15-year-old boy who allegedly knocked down an elderly woman while on his electric scooter has been identified by the police and is assisting with investigations.

It was previously reported that he had fled after knocking down a 65-year-old woman at the lift lobby of Block 538, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 on April 17.

In a statement yesterday (April 23), the police said they "have identified a 15-year-old youth for his suspected involvement in a case of rash act causing hurt".

"Through the aid of police cameras and extensive ground investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the subject who is currently assisting with investigations," police added.

An e-scooter and a helmet were seized as case exhibits.

The offence of rash act causing hurt is punishable with a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine.
