A man allegedly punched and dented more than 10 cars and kicked down four motorcycles in an open-air carpark before leaving.

The incident occurred at about 9am on Saturday (Dec 3) at Block 139, Serangoon North Avenue 2, Shin Min Daily News reported.

An eyewitness told Shin Min that he heard noises from the carpark and saw a bespectacled man in a red shirt pounding on the hood of cars with his bare fists.

Eyewitnesses said his fists seemed to be bleeding after punching the cars.

The man also reportedly stood at the entrance of the carpark and blocked vehicles from entering.

He then allegedly walked to a row of motorcycles and kicked them down.

Resident Liu Jinxing, a 48-year-old designer, said the man glared at him when he realised Mr Liu had taken a photo of him.

"He was carrying a backpack and I didn't dare to approach in case he had weapons inside," he said.

Mr Liu said that the man walked towards a bus stop about 15 minutes later.

At least two people went to inspect the scene and were dismayed at the sight of their vehicles.

One car owner, a 50-year-old librarian who gave her name as Madam Su, said her car was dented but she did not intend to spend money to fix it.

The police told The Straits Times on Saturday that they were alerted to "a case of vandalism" at 9.29am.

Police investigations are ongoing.
