Actress Rui En charged with inconsiderate driving; intends to plead guilty

Local television actress Rui En was charged in court with inconsiderate driving today (June 22).

The star hit a stationary motorcycle at a carpark near her home in Clementi Avenue 2 on April 12.

Earlier reports stated that the 35-year-old was assisting in the investigation.

The Straits Times reports that the actress, who was not represented by a lawyer, told the court that she intends to plead guilty.

Mr Bahrom Sarmiten, the 52-year-old owner of the motorcycle, reportedly told Wanbao that he was walking to the carpark when he heard a loud sound.

He then saw that his motorcycle had been hit by a black BMW, which appeared to be out of control and was driven onto a kerb.

The actress was plagued by the incident, and apologised for it during her Star Awards acceptance speech.
