Cat found dead with string around neck after falling several stories at Block 236 Toa Payoh Lor 1

A cat was found dead at the foot of Block 236 Toa Payoh Lorong 1 today (Oct 5) at around 12.30pm.

Stomp SH came across the carcass of the animal on the way to lunch and alerted Stomp to what happened.

In a telephone interview, he said he first saw the cat hanging from its neck on a ledge at what he believes was the eighth floor of the HDB block.

He did not see anyone around the feline.

The cat subsequently fell all the way to the ground floor. 

SH reported seeing the animal struggling for a while before it died.

Photos he sent shows a raffia string around the neck of the cat.

It is unclear who was responsible for the heinous act.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority said they are investigating the incident.
