A 25-year-old man was arrested for suspected drug related offences after crashing his car into an MRT line construction site at Tanjong Rhu Road at 12.29pm today (June 7).

A Stomper saw the aftermath of the crash at Tanjong Rhu Road, towards Fort Road and after Tanjong Rhu Place.

The Stomper said she heard shoutings at the construction site and rushed over to take a look.

She told Stomp that she saw a man being handcuffed by the police at the scene of the accident.

Photos the Stomper sent to Stomp show that a black car had crashed into the metal sheets surrounding the construction site.

In response to Stomp's queries, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a lorry at 12.29pm today.

A 25-year-old male driver was subsequently arrested for drug related offences, said a police spokesperson.

"Police investigations are ongoing," added the spokesperson.
