Car catches fire at Serangoon North Avenue 1 carpark

A car caught fire at an open carpark at Block 101 Serangoon North Avenue 1 on Saturday (Jun 2).

Stomper Xiang Wei alerted Stomp to the fire and shared a video of the burning vehicle.

Heavy smoke was seen rising from the flames and making the air thick and grey.

In response to a Stomp query, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said that they were alerted to the fire at about 3.20pm.

"The fire, which involved the engine compartment, was extinguished by SCDF using one compressed air foam bag," the spokesman said.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
