While walking back home, Stomper Xcape came across a baby cobra in a grass field next to a children's playground at Block 212, Marsiling Crescent.

He immediately called the police who asked him to contact Animal Concerns Research and Society (ACRES).

"I'm very worried because cobras are venomous. My concern is there is a playground less than 50m and the cobra seems to be defensive."

"If a kid tried to go near it, (he) might be bitten which is very dangerous," said the Stomper.

ACRES officers arrived later but the cobra had already disappeared into the nearby bushes.

Kalai Vanan Balakrishnan, the Deputy Chief Executive of ACRES told Stomp:

"This particular area is near to a few green spaces like Admiralty Park. Snakes like cobras also use our drainage ways to travel about and are shy animals.
