An accident involving a car and a motorcycle happened along Hougang Avenue 3 towards Tampines Road on Monday (Feb 5) at 6.20pm.

Stomper Roger who works in the area came across the incident and alerted Stomp to it.

Said Roger: "I heard a loud bang and went to take a look.

"That was after the accident had already happened, and a motorcyclist was lying on the road, so I called for an ambulance.

"Coincidentally, another ambulance was passing by and stopped to give the motorcyclist assistance. Another ambulance arrived around 11 minutes after I called 995.”

Asked if there were regular accidents along the stretch of road, Roger replied: "No, not really. Even though this is the main road and it can get quite busy at times, this is the first time I’ve seen an accident here.”

In response to a Stomp query, a police spokesman said: "On Feb 5, 2018, at 6.20pm, an accident involving a car and a motorcycle had occurred along Hougang Avenue 3 towards Tampines Road.

"The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man, was conscious when conveyed to Changi General Hospital (CGH).

"Police investigations are ongoing.”
