Stomper Kannan managed to capture the elusive Partial Lunar Eclipse at about 2.20am yesterday (Aug 8) from Woodlands.

He sent the photos of the rare phenomenon to Stomp.

According to Kannnan, a partial lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, the Earth and the moon are aligned in space, with the Earth positioned in between the other two celestial bodies.

The Partial Lunar Eclipse yesterday is believed to be the first lunar eclipse in 2017.

Said Kannan:

“It was worth the effort to stay up past midnight to watch this celestial phenomenon.

“Would like to share the montage of this rare sighting with readers out there.”
