Another driver caught with over 6,700 sachets of chewing tobacco at Woodlands Checkpoint

A 28-year-old Malaysian driver was caught trying to smuggle over 6,700 sachets of chewing tobacco that he had hidden in his car at Woodlands Checkpoint on June 26.

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a Facebook post yesterday (June 28) that officers had detected the contraband in various parts of the Malaysia-registered car.

These included the left and right door panels, under the floor mat, the boot compartment, and the floor board.

"The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for investigations," added ICA.
