56-year-old man involved in accident after losing consciousness while driving along Scotts Road

A 56-year-old man was sent to hospital following an accident involving two cars along Scotts Road at around 9.34pm yesterday (Aug 18).

Stomp understands that he had earlier suffered a cardiac arrest while driving and lost consciousness, which led to the accident.

Netizen Supper Jimmy posted photos showing the aftermath of what happened on his Facebook page.

There were many passersby in the vicinity of the accident and police as well as paramedics were at the scene rendering aid.

One of the photos showed a bloodstain on the road.

Said a police spokesman in response to a Stomp query:

"On 18 August 2017 at 9.34pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving two cars along Scotts Road.

"A 56-year-old man was unconscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital."

The driver is believed to be recovering and police investigations are ongoing.
