50-year-old man armed with knife arrested after stand-off with police at Jurong West

A 50-year-old man has been arrested after a stand-off with the police at Block 114 Ho Ching Road. 

According to an update on Singapore Police Force's Facebook page, the man had locked himself in the house with two of his family members.

There were no injuries reported.

Around 40 to 50 officers from SPF and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were present when The Straits Times visited at the scene. 

The SCDF also set up an inflatable life raft at the foot of the block. 

Officers barged into the unit at about 6pm, and the man was led out from the unit at about 6.10pm.

Reporters observe that he had a heavily bruised thigh.
