A 36-year-old man was arrested for suspected drink driving after the lorry he was driving overturned at Woodlands Avenue 9 early today (Feb 16).

Stomper Adam heard a screeching of tyres followed by a crash from his home at Block 877.

When he looked out his window, he saw the overturned lorry.

"It looked like the man was stuck and had to be rescued by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers," he said.

In response to Stomp's media queries, a police spokesman said that they were alerted to the accident at 3.20am.

"The lorry driver, a 36-year-old man, was unconscious when conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital," he said.

"He was subsequently arrested for drink driving."

The SCDF said that two other Chinese men in their 30s refused conveyance to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
