31-year-old man arrested for attempted suicide at Blk 256 Serangoon Central Dr

A 31-year-old man was arrested for attempted suicide at Block 256 Serangoon Central Drive yesterday (Sep 1).

Stomper Nermala and another Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident.

"I saw a man standing on the ledge outside his unit," said Nermala.

"Thankfully, officers managed to get into the unit and convinced the man not to jump."

In response to Stomp media queries, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said that they were alerted to the case of rescue at about 12pm.

One fire engine, one Red Rhino, one ambulance, and four support vehicles were dispatched to the location.

The SCDF set up an air pack as a precautionary measure.

A police spokesman said that the 31-year-old man was arrested for attempted suicide and police investigations are ongoing.
