3-year-old girl in Malaysia dies after getting stabbed 59 times by uncle with scissors

A 3-year-old girl in Malaysia died after getting stabbed 59 times by her uncle wielding a pair of scissors.

The incident happened at the victim’s home at Jalan Kuang Gunung 4, Kepong in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday night (June 18).

During the brutal attack, three of the stabs pierced the girl's heart and lungs, reports The Star.

The victim’s body was reportedly discovered by her grandmother in the kitchen of their two-storey terrace house, covered with a white blanket.

The suspect was arrested on the day of the incident.

Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said that the murder weapon was found outside the victim’s house, adding: "The murder weapon was found inside a drain outside the victim’s house while police combed the area for evidence."

He said that the suspect may have thrown it after the attack to avoid detection.

"Based on the initial post mortem report, the victim was stabbed more than 30 times, mostly on her back. The cause of death is puncture to her lung.”

The number of stabs was subsequently revised to 59 in a later report.

The 21-year-old suspect is believed to have covered the victim’s mouth during the attack. He later confessed to the crime during interrogation.

He told officers that he had consumed drugs a day before the incident. Police also found drugs in his car.

Munusamy added: "The suspect was staying in the same house with the victim’s mother and granny but after his mother found out that he was using drugs, she told him to move out.

"But his mother allowed him to visit off and on,” he said.

The suspect’s preliminary drug test result was negative, and had been sent for lab examination.”

City police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said that the suspect, an alleged drug pusher, had been using the murder weapon to cut straws which he filled with methamphetamine.

The victim approached him from behind and started disturbing him.

He elaborated: "The suspect then pushed the victim, and she knocked over the scissors. At this point, the suspect lost his temper and stabbed the child 59 times, three of which pierced her heart and lungs."

Mazlan said that the case has been classified as murder and police investigations were ongoing.

The police also took statements from the victim’s mother, 18, and grandmother.
