3 men investigated for providing false info about alleged robbery to Police

Three men, aged between 19 to 24, are believed to have provided false information to the Police and are currently being investigated.

A 24-year-old man had called the Police on July 1 at about 11.35pm, alleging that his worker was beaten up and robbed of cash by three unknown men.

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division detected several inconsistencies during the course of investigation.

It was eventually established that the 24-year-old man and his two 19-year-old workers had provided false information to the Police.

Investigations against the three men are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for giving any information which he or she knows to be false to a public servant shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to $5,000, or with both.
