3 injured in accident involving taxi and Mercedes along Punggol East

Three people were injured in an accident involving a taxi and a Mercedes that took place along Punggol East today (Sep 4) at around 5pm.

Stomper Dylan alerted Stomp to what happened and sent us a photo showing the aftermath of the accident.

In the photo, a trail of debris can be seen behind the taxi that ended up on a pavement at the junction.

Dylan said in a telephone interview that he was unclear what happened, but reported hearing a loud bang.

The Mercedes cannot be seen in the photo the Stomper took. He said that the vehicle was inside the yellow box at the traffic junction following what happened.

Said a spokeman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) in response to a Stomp query over the incident:

"SCDF was alerted to an accident at the junction of Punggol Field and Punggol East at around 4.40pm.

"SCDF dispatched two ambulances.

"A person was conveyed to Changi General Hospital.

"A woman and a child were conveyed to National University Hospital."
