2 women arrested for serial shop theft: 167 pieces of clothing worth almost $9k recovered

Police have arrested two women who were had stolen nearly $9,000 worth of clothing.

On Feb 7 at around 4.25pm, the police received information that the women, both 34, were attempting to dispatch stolen property overseas.

The two women were arrested within six hours after the incident was reported.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the women are suspected to be involved in several other shop theft cases.

In total, 167 pieces of stolen clothing were recovered, with a combined value of S$ 8944.50.

Both women will be charged in Court on Feb 9 2018 with the offence of Theft in Dwelling with Common Intention.

If convicted, they could be jailed for up to 7 years and fined.
