Woman's leg amputated, man unconscious after getting hit by Bangkok train while taking selfies

A man and a woman were hit by a train while posing for selfies on the tracks of Samsen Railway Station in Bangkok, Thailand, early yesterday morning (Feb 8).

Walailak Sukama, 28, had her right leg amputated after she was dragged by the train while Amnaj Nawantib, 25, was knocked unconscious, reported The Nation.

Their friend, 25-year-old Amornthep Tipnongwaeng, told police that the three of them had been drinking alcohol along the tracks near the railway station at around 4am.

The victims then wanted to take pictures with an outbound train in the background.

However, they failed to notice an inbound train approaching on another track -- though it is unclear why.

Police were alerted to the accident at about 5am and the duo were sent to the hospital.

It has not been decided whether charges will be filed against the two victims.
