18-year-old man arrested for allegedly molesting 25-year-old woman on MRT train

An 18-year-old teenager was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty that occurred on a train.

The alleged victim, a 25-year-old woman, told the police on May 22 that she had been molested on board a MRT train.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division identified the suspect and arrested him on May 28.

Investigations against the teenager are ongoing.

If convicted, he is liable to a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine and/or caning.
