Eleven workers were sent to the hospital following a chemical leak incident at wafer production firm RF360 Singapore, located at 166 Kallang Way, this afternoon (July 18).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said on Facebook that it was alerted to the incident at 1.40pm.

Two fire engines, one fire bike, three support vehicles and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

The leak was contained within a sealed production room on the premises and shut off prior to SCDF's arrival by an in-built safety system.

A total of 11 workers from the affected production room were "conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious and stable condition," said SCDF.

It added, "SCDF HazMat detectors currently show no reading of the chemical vapour in the production room. The surrounding environment is also safe with no traces of the chemical in the air."
